The plaintiff in error, Glenn A. Berg, hereinafter called the defendant, was found guilty of attempted rape, contrary to secs.
939.32 (2) and 944.01, Stats. On May 10, 1966, pursuant to sec. 959.15 (6), Sex Crimes Act, the defendant was committed to
the Department of Public Welfare for specialized treatment. The prosecutrix, Marcy Ann /--, was at the time of the alleged offense twenty years old. She was of slight build, being five
feet two inches tall and weighing 102 pounds. Although married, she was living in an apartment house with two other young
women, because at the time of the incident her husband was overseas and stationed at Guam.
